Dear Z-Library community,

As you may know, in November 2022, as ordered by the US secret service, almost all the public domains of the library were blocked, and the inner infrastructure of the project suffered some substantial damage, too. Today, we are still under unprecedented pressure. At the moment, Z-Library is going through the hardest times in all the 14 years of its existence. The library might work with interruptions, and we ask you to be patient. Be sure - we are doing everything possible to ensure free access to knowledge for millions of people across the globe, and we expect you to help us with that and to support us.

But despite all the difficulties, the library continues to function and develop! We have recently introduced several important features - the new recommendations section, comments to booklists, the new web-site menu, and also now you can thank the users who made the books appear online. Now, let us speak about each of those and our plans for 2023.

New recommendations section

Many of you have appreciated and enjoyed personal recommendations, based on the books you downloaded. We felt like upgrading this section, and now recommendations can be issued based on any booklist and your favorites list, which you are free to make on your own. This feature opens the potential for search of the appropriate books depending on your interests or area of expertise. Try using it to make new outstanding booklists, and don’t be afraid to experiment.

Say “Thank you” option

New books appear in the library thanks to the efforts of our users - uploaders, moderators, and proof-readers. They work hard to get a book into the library for you to enjoy. And now you have the option to thank them and send a "Thank you" message with your feedback right from the book page. They'll be delighted to get feedback from the community!

New main menu

Alas, the previous menu hierarchy was simply unable to contain all the stunning features we have recently introduced. Meet the new main menu! We expect it to make the library structure clearer and the navigation easier. If you believe the old menu was better, you might just have been with us for a long time and got used to it. Give yourself a chance to get accustomed to the new menu, and we are sure you are going to love it.

Comments to booklists

The new booklist commenting option is a bridge between readers and the booklist author. Readers can share their thoughts about a booklist and receive a feedback from the author in return. This will make the booklists even better! In addition, we decided to experiment and implement a comment response system, which in the future could migrate to the blog and book comments.

Plans for 2023

Here's a little preview of our plans for this year. In 2023, our top priority is making the library accessible by users across the globe, as well as making the books in the library more and better. We keep zealously working on further improvement the library and are going to offer you some stunning functions soon:

  • - new full text search, where you can switch to reading of the fragment found
  • - the new online reader for more comfortable and fast reading
  • - new version of the Android app
  • - and more breathtaking books, of course!

We are grateful to the community and everyone contributing into development of the library. Thank you those who upload the books, sort out the low quality files and spam, who proof-read the book descriptions, and who make dedicated collections. It is thanks to you that the library not just stands, but gets more and more interesting and valuable for people from all over the world.

Bad libraries build collections, good libraries build services, great libraries build communities
